Coronavirus (COVID-19) update regarding Crushes Manor Clinic

Following the Prime Minister's announcement on 23 March and guidance from our governing bodies (CSP and PhysioFirst) the clinic remains open for urgent face to face appointments only.

For any non-urgent conditions we are now offering virtual physiotherapy appointments by telephone or video. These will be charged at reduced rates.

We can also offer help with pain medication – see Pain Management Service information on our website.

Please call 01277 375955 to book your virtual appointment with one of our physiotherapists.

They will take a detailed history of your condition and will advise whether an urgent face to face appointment is required or whether virtual appointments are suitable.

The government has advised against leaving your home for non-essential travel but has made provisions for travel in case of medical need.

We continue to urge you to follow the government's advice and abstain from visiting the clinic if you are suffering from a temperature, a cough or are unwell.

Given the current situation, it is advisable that you only travel to the clinic if you need treatment for a condition urgently.

To reassure you - if a face to face appointment is thought to be required - we are employing a series of measures at the clinic so that members of the public have minimal contact with anyone else in the clinic building to reduce the risk of transmission.

We wish you all well and please stay safe.

Many of the common orthopaedic conditions, such as lower back pain, neck pain and shoulder pain, sciatic pain, arm pain and pins and needles in the hand, can be treated with physiotherapy.

However, sometimes pain can interfere with the rehab process and at these times, painkillers can play a small but important role in reducing the pain. This can then enable the patient to concentrate on their exercises.

We have two physiotherapist independent prescribers at the clinic who can give advice about pain medication and also prescribe it.

This advice can be done via a face to face appointment in the clinic or remotely via telephone/video conferencing.

Once a proper patient history has been taken, and keeping in mind any risks affecting the patient, a private prescription can be generated. Please remember this is not an NHS prescription and the charges will have to be paid to the pharmacy.

This is a very useful service for anyone in pain who needs advice about medication or a prescription if they are unable to see their GP.

Please remember that we can only discuss pain relief for orthopaedic conditions.

If you are unsure about a condition or you need advice about pain medication and would like to consult with one of our physiotherapist independent prescribers, please get in touch on 01277 375955 and we can conduct a telephone consultation.
